One of the oddest teams to have ever played the game came out of the town of Rawlins, Wyoming, home of the state Penitentiary. The team was odd because its players were all prisoners at that penitentiary, serving time for all kinds of crimes, including murder.

But much less remembered was that the English too raised an armada, seeking to take advantage of the Spanish loss, itself ending in dismal, almost spectacular failure.
